About Overview
Message from the Chair
Physics at The University of Texas at Austin has a long track record of excellence and innovation. As an alum myself, I can recall many of the legends who have walked these halls in our building: luminaries like Steven Weinberg, John Archibald Wheeler and countless others. Our current faculty now drive forward important initiatives for our century: in quantum materials science, particle physics research, cosmology, laser development and a lot more. We are a welcoming home for curious and exploring people, offering a Texas-sized presence for groundbreaking physics research and education.
