New insights in the stability of nuclear fusion plasma and space weather effects on planetary magnetospheres
Description
Abstract: The performance of future fusion reactors requires minimizing or avoiding the plasma instabilities. In particular, current driven modes as internal kink, pressure gradient driven modes as interchange and ballooning modes as well as energetic particle driven modes. Present analysis discuss several recent advances on the topic. Recent analysis about space weather are also discussed, particularly the interaction of the stellar wind with planetary magnetospheres, analyzing the generation of radio emission and soft X ray radiation that can be measured by ground radio telescopes and satellites. Implications on exoplanet habitability and future space missions are obtained.
