The Physics Education Forum is a place to broaden our knowledge and experience about the teaching and learning of physics. It is open to all persons with an interest in this topic!
Description
For this forum, we will focus our discussion specifically on what could be appropriate roles for AI tools, such as UT Sage, in physics courses from the foundational to the graduate level. To help frame this discussion, below I’ve linked a recent video and article from the Chronicle of Higher Education highlighting some student views on AI as well as a recent Phys Rev paper from a focused collection.
- 5 College Students. 5 Views on Generative AI from CHE.
- Lademann, Julia, Jannik Henze, and Sebastian Becker-Genschow. "Augmenting learning environments using AI custom chatbots: Effects on learning performance, cognitive load, and affective variables." Physical Review Physics Education Research 21.1 (2025): 010147.
