Description
Abstract: I will first describe the personal journeys we make, and how life experiences and background, formal education, career choices and training in Physics influence them. Then I will take an in-depth look at a current issue: the power and energy needs of the worldwide AI Data Center Infrastructure. It's all a matter of Economics, Sociology, and Physics.
Bio: Dr. Drobot, Chairman of Open Tech Works, Inc., is on the Boards of Stealth Software Technologies Inc., Avlino Inc., LoXWorks Inc., and Advanced Green Machines Ltd., and earlier served in several other corporate leadership roles. He is a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Technological Advisory Council, where he co-chaired the Working Group on Al and Computing the past 4 years, and the U.
Texas Physics Department Advisory Council. He chairs Fames USA, a non-profit company promoting STEM careers for disadvantaged children, and the IEEE Corporate and Government Outreach Working Group le has published over 160 journal articles, holds 27 patents, and has authored and edited several books. He earned a BA in Engineering Physics from Comell University in 1968, a PhD. in Plasma Physics from the University of Texas in 1975, and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society
