Title: Cosmic Microwave Backlight: the Future of CMB Secondary Anisotropies
Description
Abstract: The cosmic microwave background (CMB) not only tells us about the primordial Universe, but it also reveals invisible properties of the large-scale structure, like watermarks on a bank note. These secondary anisotropies in the CMB hold crucial clues to the nature of dark energy and dark matter, and to the physics of neutrinos and inflation. In this seminar, I will present my group's work to improve our ability to measure the gravitational lensing of the CMB. I will also show how Simons Observatory and Rubin Observatory will enable the first detections of faint new secondary anisotropies, including the full three-dimensional peculiar velocity field of matter.
